The aim of the GlobalCadet training and development program for graduate pilots is to create Junior First Officers with excellent prospects of direct entry employment on the single aisle jet fleet. The key to achieve this is for Cadets to reach the required industry standard of 500 flight hours experience on a/c type. Current options are available for the Airbus A320 family and Boeing 737 family jets within market leading companies worldwide.
WThe GlobalCadet program comprises of the following three steps:
1. Type Rating Qualification.
2. Base Training Flight.
3. Line Training & Experience until 500 block hours on type.
Cadets may select to complete each component on its own or as a fully integrated program. The program is open to applicants of all nationalities.
The Type Rating Qualification course comprises of 167 hours (approximately 5 calendar weeks). It consists of the following three phases:
Training aids used for theoretical and practical system training are selected on the basis of their capacity to present the individual system’s operation in the most realistic, effective and productive manner possible. These include:
10 sessions of training on the APT (Airbus Procedure Trainer) or FNPT (Fixed base Navigational Procedural Training) device with Type Rating Instructor (first session is an introduction).
Flight Simulator phase Instruction consists of 9 sessions, 36 hours in total, on the A320 or B737 Full FS. 8th session is LOFT (Line Oriented Flight Training) – designed to conduct a complete flight in a realistic environment, build up the trainees’ confidence so that they can safely operate the aircraft in a demanding environment. The last session is a skill test.
Each FFS session is comprised of 4 hours of flight training for a crew of two pilots. A minimum period of eleven days is required and the training time is divided between Pilot Flying and Pilot Monitoring. The last session is a skill test which trainees are required to pass.
A briefing starts an hour before the flight session, whereas a debriefing takes place for an hour after the session.
The Base training flight is performed after the successful completion of the type rating qualification (above). Base training for multi-pilot aeroplanes, includes at least 4 landings of which at least one is a full stop - if the trainee pilot holds over 500 hours of the MPA experience in aircraft of a similar size and performance.
In all other cases the student must complete at least 6 landings. The aeroplane training conducted does not exceed 2 hours.
Once the above steps are complete, the Cadets move on to the Operator Line Training and Line Flying part which is the final step of the Cadet Program. The duration of this step is planned for Eight to Ten (8-10) Months. This duration may extend due to adverse weather, operational reasons, Cadet’s performance or ability to cope with the planned course, force majeure or any other unforeseen reason either provided explicitly herein or not.

In addition, for Direct Entry To Step 3 - Line Training & Experience, the A320 family or 737 family Type Rating and Base Training is required - issued by Any Aviation Authority (EASA, FAA, CASA, etc)
